Statutory Free Removal Service

The Producer Responsibility Scheme on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WPRS) has been fully implemented from 1 August, 2018. Customers who purchase regulated electrical appliances, including air conditioners, washing machines and refrigerators, as specified in the Producer Eco-Responsibility Ordinance, can request free removal service for the same type and quantity of used electrical appliances (only applicable to the same type of regulated electrical appliances).

Customers can choose one of the following services when placing an order:

1. Standard Removal Service​

• Under normal circumstances, 3 working days are required for arranging the removal service
• The removal service may be different from the delivery and installation service (the old items pending removal can be removed in advance or placed temporarily at the premises for collection later as appropriate)
• The above service is provided by ALBA Integrated Waste Solutions (Hong Kong) Limited (Fortress is only responsible for making appointments and passing the relevant customer information to ALBA-IWS on behalf of the customer in respect of the Statutory Free Removal Service)
• Customers shall give no less than 2 working days' notice in respect of any request for change of delivery time, date and/or place

2. Fortress Same-day Waste Appliance Collection Service (if applicable)

• The service fee is $100 per appliance (exclude split air-conditioners)
• Fortress’ delivery team shall collect a waste appliance from the customers upon the same day and the same delivery address when delivering or installing a new appliance purchased by the customers (exclude air-conditioners)

3. Brand Collection Service (if applicable)

• The collection service is provided by the brand supplier directly. Brand supplier will arrange appliance collection on delivery and installation date at the same place with the delivery address
• The above collection service is provided by brand supplier (Fortress is only responsible for making appointments and passing the relevant customer information to brand supplier)
• Customers who choose this add-on service would pay cash to delivery team
• The service charge may not include the additional charge (e.g. stair fee, dismantling fee, etc.)

4. Removal Service Not Required

• Contact ALBA-IWS at 2676 8888 for collection if Statutory Free Removal Service is needed

Remarks:

• The old items must stand-alone and be freed from other connections or obstacles.
• The old item should be kept clean and tidy. If the old items have serious hygiene issues (e.g. rancid foods, presence of cockroaches and ants, etc.), the collector will have the right not to remove such items, and there will be no more free removal service for the customers.
• The old items should comply with the specifications of the same type of regulated electrical appliances. For details, please refer to Terms & Conditions of each service.
• Customers should pay attention to the size of the waste appliance. If it is too big to go through any door, corridor or staircase, the collector will have the right not to provide the service.
