Japan is like a second home to many people from Hong Kong, so it's a no-brainer to take the kiddos for a family trip back there. Fukuoka, with its convenient transportation, offers plenty of attractions that are perfect for children, making it an ideal choice for a family getaway.

When going out with kids, it's always a lot to carry. Before setting off, prepare a large suitcase to store all the things, so you can carry the luggage with one hand and hold your child's hand with the other. Preparing travel data in advance means fewer worries upon arrival, allowing you to have a joyful and worry-free time.

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park -  Endless Fun for Kids

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, which is always on the top of the must-visit attractions for a family trip to Fukuoka. Uminonakamichi Seaside Park is a national park covering an area of approximately 350 hectares, with various sections of the park planted with seasonal flowers. The park features a large children's playground area with slides, climbing facilities of various sizes, as well as some paid experiences such as go-karts and mazes. During summer, visitors can also cool off and have fun at the seasonal "Sunshine Pool," which consists of six different pools suitable for both adults and children. For a more relaxed experience, you can also visit the Animal Forest, an open-air zoo where you can interact closely with around 50 different kinds of adorable animals such as kangaroos, capybaras, and flamingos. Spend a whole day at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park and let your children have a blast!

When kids are running around and playing, they often work up a sweat. Bringing a portable fan allows you to cool them down anytime, anywhere, ensuring they don't overheat even if they get too excited.

Uminonakamichi Marine World - Dive into the Underwater World

On rainy days or when the weather is too hot, you can visit Fukuoka's only aquarium, the Uminonakamichi Marine World. While enjoying the cool air conditioning, you sit on the long benches in front of the three-level-high tank to emerge in the magnificent underwater world. Uminonakamichi Marine World was the first aquarium in Japan to introduce diver performances. Diver would hold a camera to live-stream the underwater scenes and provide close-up explanations near the sharks. In addition, there are over ten performances everyday, including dolphin and sea lion shows, stingray performances, and feeding demonstrations. You can check the performance schedule on the official website in advance to ensure you don't miss any of them.

When traveling to crowded places where it's easy for children to get lost, it's a good idea to bring along a tracking device with positioning functionality. Place it in your child's small bag, and in case they accidentally wander off, you can immediately locate them.

Nokonoshima Island Park - A Day Trip to an Outer Island

If you want to let your children experience the feeling of being surrounded by nature, you can visit Nokonoshima, which is only a ten-minute boat ride from Fukuoka City. Nokonoshima Island Park is located on the north side of Nokonoshima and offers breathtaking views of the vast ocean and beautiful flower fields that change with the seasons. The park features various recreational facilities such as swings, rope slides, and mountain training equipment. You can also participate in the Nokonoshima Hammer Ball Tournament for a fee, allowing your children to run and play all day in the embrace of flowers and plants. For a deeper immersion in nature, you can make reservations to stay in one of the cottages within the park. Guests staying overnight have free access to the park, allowing you to take your time and enjoy the surroundings.

After a full day of fun, children often end up with a lot of dirty clothes. Bringing a portable washing machine ensures that you won't have to worry about running out of clothes to replace.

Kyushu Railway History Museum - Train Driving Experience

The Kyushu Railway History Museum is located in Moji Port, which is 50 minutes apart from Fukuoka City. In this semi-open-air museum, long trains are displayed, including steam trains, wooden carriages, and sleeper trains, all of which were once in operation in Kyushu. All the carriages are open for visitors to explore, and it's a must to get on board and experience what it was like to ride on these trains in the past. Next to the museum, there is a railway park where you can experience driving a mini train. Parents can ride together with their children on the mini train head, control the train on the tracks using the signal lights, and if you're lucky, you may even have a chance to ride the train to Yufuin Forest!

When traveling, it's important to capture the precious moments of your children's growth. Bringing a selfie stabilizer allows you to play with your children and capture every precious moment without missing a beat.
