Points to consider before you buy
1. Dishwasher size and capacity
Before buying a dishwasher, consider not just the size of your kitchen, but also the number of family members you need to cater for. For example, a 2-person family usually uses around 6-9 sets of standard tableware while a 4-person family uses 12 sets or more. The following are the recommended dishwasher sizes for different families:

2. Dishwasher Types
In addition to freestanding and built-in models, dishwashers are also categorised according to where they are placed. There are two types: floor and countertop. The floor type is placed under the kitchen cabinet and are suitable for homeowners or long-term residents. The countertop type, on the other hand, is more convenient to move and install and is probably the best choice for renters.
3. Dishwasher features
In general, dishwashers offer basic washing and drying functions. Some models come with additional functions such as professional washing programs, high-speed washing and high temperature sterilisation etc. Choose a dishwasher according to your needs.
4. Dishwasher utility consumption
A countertop dishwasher consumes about 4.5-5.3 litres of water for each wash. A floor-mounted dishwasher requires about 10.8-16.2 litrthes of water and consumes more electricity. Choose the most efficient model according to energy label or your personal needs.
5. Dishwasher noise
Most home appliances create noise, but because built-in dishwashers are usually installed in cabinets, the sounds generated during operation are blocked. Or you may choose a model with low operating volume or quiet mode.
Usage Tips
1. Wipe away large food residue before putting the dishes into the dishwasher to enhance cleaning effect and avoid clogging the filter.
2. Use the sorting rack inside the dishwasher to arrange the dishes from small to large according to the instructions to get the best cleaning results.
3. Select the appropriate wash program and use the right amount of detergent according to the degree of soiling and the number of dishes, pots and pans you are loading to save energy.
4. Wood, aluminum, crystal, non-heat resistant plastic and metal utensils that may rust are not suitable for a dishwasher.
5. Clean the filter and inside the dishwasher regularly to avoid the growth of bacteria.
