Feeding Guidelines
The ideal feeding amount will vary depending on the cat's age, weight, and activity level, so the following guidelines are for reference only. Divide the daily feeding amount (cups) by the number of feedings per day. Always provide clean drinking water. In addition to dry food, we recommend feeding raw or wet food to help increase the moisture content of your pet's diet. Daily Feeding Guidelines (Standard 8-ounce dry food measuring cup): Adult cats maintaining their weight (cups per day): 5 lbs: ⅜ cup; 10 lbs: ½ cup; 15 lbs: ¾ cup. Weight loss period (cups per day): 5 lbs: ¼ cup; 10 lbs: ⅜ cup; 15 lbs: ½ cup. Kittens: Feed twice the amount needed to maintain their weight. Pregnant/lactating cats: Feed three times the amount needed to maintain their weight as an adult cat. Transitioning to Instinct Pet Food: Always introduce new food gradually over 5 to 7 days, increasing the proportion of Instinct Pet Food mixed with their existing food each day.
